A joint effort between Phobos Proprietary Systems and Advanced Ganymede Technologies has resulted in new miniaturization technology. One of the first new products resulting from this breakthrough is the Combat Scanner. The Combat Scanner upgrade gives the fighter pilot the same target detail information that, until now, has only been available on capital ships. By burst scanning the target, the Combat Scanner gives you detailed information on your target’s vital statistics, such as shield and hull strength.

- The Combat Scanner is one of the three automatically given to the player at the start of a new game. The other two are the Afterburner and the Lead Targeting Assistant.
