Escort Mining Vessel is a contract offered at Europa Starbase.
Story[]
After one of AGT's mining vessels is disabled at some point in the past, a replacement, the Burkhart 4192, is ready to launch from Mira Vista Shipyards and begin mineral processing in the Ganymede Sector. While the trip from Luna to Ganymede is short enough, AGT wants to ensure that this expensive ship does not come under attack from a rival corporation, so they enllist Jake Logan as an escort.
This proves to be a valuable decision as Core Mining Industries ambushes the vessel before it can leave the sector. Whether CMI didn't plan to face an escort or misjudged the strength of Mira Vista patrol forces, the paltry squadron of Dart fighters is quickly ended.
Or so it seems. When Logan and the mining vessel enter Ganymede, a second wave of Darts attacks them; though these delicate ships are no match for Logan's skill. He successfully escorts Burkhart 4192 to Ganymede Station and returns to base, already caught up in the crossfire of corporate squabbles within weeks of returning from vacation.

- Fly to Luna Sector.
- Destroy eight Darts. The Burkhart 4192 must survive.
- Fly to Ganymede Sector.
- Destroy four Darts. The Burkhart 4192 must survive.
Execution[]
Darts are weakly armored ships but possess the strong combination of Boron Medium Lasers and Heavy Mining Lasers. If left unchecked, they can make quick work of the Burkhart.
Eight Darts spawn out of the Ganymede and Earth Sector gates in four waves of two ships each. The first wave exits Ganymede, the second from Earth, then the last two waves from Ganymede again. If you wait by the gates in this pattern, you can destroy the Darts before they get the chance to touch the Burkhart. A squad of five Makos will enter the sector to aid you in the battle.
After clearing out the Darts, you must wait for the Burkhart to jump to Ganymede. But if you are impatient, you can jump to Ganymede early, jump back to Luna, then proceed again to Ganymede, which will force the Burkhart to advance. Surviving Makos will accompany you to Ganymede for the next part of the mission.
After entering Ganymede Sector, four more Darts attack the mining vessel while ignoring you completely. The Darts are ultimately a weak match and the mission is yours with enough effort.
Notes[]
- It is possible to soft-lock the save file by failing this mission. If Burkhart 4192 is destroyed, you can return to base and choose to continue instead of replay the mission. If you continue, you will lose access to this mission and will be unable to unlock the Tesla EMP Missile in the shop, which are needed to disable the escaping shuttles in the mission Quarantine Compromised. This makes completing Quarantine Compromised impossible and prevents you from advancing in the game.
