Europa Starbase

Europa Starbase is a space station within the Sol Region. It is one of the eight starbases Jake Logan can visit.

Background[]

Europa Starbase is one of, if not the primary, operating hubs of Advanced Ganymede Technologies in the Sol Region. It is helmed by the robotic traffic control operator, Dillinger Control, which directs ships and breaks up squabbles that occur in the sector.

Few stations in the Fringe feature a bright white hull like this starbase. Its architecture is further defined by the iconic four chambers attached to the sides of the central hangar, each chamber sporting three solar fins to take advantage of the station’s relative proximity to the sun.

It is possible to fly inside the hangar bay without triggering the landing animation. After your ship exits the starbase, afterburn in reverse so that your ship passes through the hangar entrance backwards at roughly 2,300 SLU. It may help to toggle the F8 key so that you can see behind you as you fly. If done correctly, you will pass inside the bay without ending the mission and you can explore the interior. If you try to leave the bay, the landing animation will trigger and end the mission.
The model of the Europa Starbase is reused in the design of the Star Patrol Farpost Station, though on the latter the solar fins are removed and there is an attached ring of quarters and office units.
