Developed by Oberon Incorporated, the Sunspot Missile packs a heavy punch. When the Sunspot Missile contacts the shields of its target, fusion cells in the weapon drain energy directly into the warhead. Quickly overloading, the fusion cells explode detonating the explosive warhead. As a backup, the warhead is also outfitted with a contact detonator that will also trigger the charge when the weapon hits the armored hull. The Sunspot missile is guided and does moderate damage to a ship’s shields and heavy damage to a ship’s hull.

- The Ammo Hold system increases the Sunspot Missile's total ammo count to 10 missiles.
- Only GalSpan ships can equip the Sunspot Missile.
